AGARTALA, May 15: As many as 12 houses were set on fire by Reang people at Kashirampara, a remote village in North Tripura District on Sunday following suicide of a Reang youth, who was manhandled labelling him ‘thief’ reportedly by few Bengali residents few days back.
Bhriguram Reang, 32, committed suicide today reportedly after he was insulted and manhandled by few Bengali residents of the area, as alleged by a section of Reang people.
Sources said that Bhriguram Reang (32) a refugee of Naisingpara in Kanchanpur, was caught red-handed stealing fish from a pond at Kashirampara few days back and later manhandled by some people.
